I've been loading up boxes all week. Today everything is boxed up.
The guys are carrying the heavy stuff down to the basement and out to the garage. It was tricky to know what to pack up and what to leave. I had to go hunting for the ice cream scoop! What was I thinking packing that away!
Now we have a little mini-kitchen set up in the dining room.
Hopefully this will do for couple of weeks. I know we will eat out, but I'm trying to keep that to a minimum.
The table is tiny but we can cook in the crock pot. And yes, there is still room for flowers! Grape hyacinth from the back yard--before the snow! (We picked May to do this project because of the mild weather! HA!)
The fireplace room is empty. We are hoping most of the IKEA boxes will fit in here. There's room in the garage too. It's funny to have one room so empty and one room so crammed. But, it won't be empty for long.
And this picture troubles me.
This is my Goodwill pile. Very small. Too small. It means I really didn't have much stuff that I didn't use or I'm in a state of denial and just not tossing enough. I'm afraid it's the latter. I did throw away some things (Todd asked, "What is in the garbage can? ROCKS!") but I'm not sure it's enough. I guess I will have another opportunity to toss/give stuff away when I put it all back in the cabinets.
Tomorrow the cabinets come down.
Then I'm sure I will really start saying, "What were we thinking!?"
I just keep reminding myself how much I'm going to love my new cutting board counter top and drawers that actually close and a fridge that doesn't leak.
(Please excuse the typos and mis-spellings. I'm not much into proof-reading right now.)
